There's a Right Time for Everything

There's an opportune time to do things,
a right time for everything on the earth:

A right time for birth and another for death,
A right time to plant and another to reap,
A right time to kill and another to heal,
A right time to destroy and another to construct,
A right time to cry and another to laugh,
A right time to lament and another to cheer,
A right time to make love and another to abstain,
A right time to embrace and another to part,
A right time to search and another to count your losses,
A right time to hold on and another to let go,
A right time to rip out and another to mend,
A right time to shut up and another to speak up,
A right time to love and another to hate,
A right time to wage war and another to make peace.

But in the end, does it really make a difference what anyone does?
I've had a good look at what God has given us to do--busywork, mostly.
True, God made everything beautiful in itself and in its time--
- - - but he's left us in the dark, so we can never know what God is up to, whether he's coming or going.
I've decided that there's nothing better to do than go ahead
and have a good time and get the most we can out of life.
That's it--eat, drink, and make the most of your job. It's God's gift.

I've also concluded that whatever God does,
that's the way it's going to be, always.
No addition, no subtraction.
God's done it and that's it.
That's so we'll quit asking questions
and simply worship in holy fear.

Whatever was, is.
Whatever will be, is.
That's how it always is with God.

Gina... on your birthday!

Her name means queen… and when you see her, you would see the following… classy, upright, respected, directing, effective, independent, ladylike, honorable … and many more. But more so, to us she is a great friend who is always willing to listen, eager to support, and fun to be with.

I pray

Every day I sit in my room and pray...
That God would send me a friend
One that wouldn't see me for what I am on the outside,
but what was on the inside.

For someone that wouldn't take me for granted,
for being the friend that I was.
Whom I wouldn't take for granted either.
For someone that would spend time with me,
that thought about the things that they could give me,
the same way that I would give to them.

That knows that the best gift to give in the world to give
is the gift of love and affection, of time and listening.

Who knew that the whole concept of being a friend,
was to stand aside and listen in order to let that person to grow.
A true friend that was going to be there for me no matter what.

That night I received my answer...
After nights and nights of asking I came to God
And asked why He didn't answer my prayers.
He responded by saying to me "what all have I done for you".
So I said.. "You stood beside me through all things that
I thought couldn't be accomplished and they were".
"You help me smile after hours and hours of crying".
"It never mattered to you that I wasn't the richest person in the world
when it came to you giving me advice"
"You have always been here for me during trial and tribulations".

Finally I said "all together you have been a good friend".
I looked at him and he said "Why give you something that you already have?
I am the friend that you are looking for.
The one that is not selfish , loving and listens.
The one that you have looked for and you have found.
And I love you."

"Friendship is unnecessary, like philosophy, like art... It has no survival value; rather it is one of those things that give value to survival." (CS Lewis)

Learning our love language

Different people, different personalities. There must be different ways of communicating with them.

For lovers , how do they continue to connect with one another? For friends, how can they better appreciate each other? Between siblings, between parents and children, between two people, how can they better express themselves to each other? True, we may speak the same language but we may not truly be understanding one another.

A few nights ago, we learned that there are five love languages. They are:

Acts of Service
Words of Affirmation
Receiving gifts
Quality Time
Physical Touch

From stories of Ate Jojo and Kuya Francis, we found out that truly two people in a relationship could speak different love languages.

Love songs sang by Gina and accmpanied by Wendell and Miler reminded us that we all look for love.

Kuya Gingin and Ate June shared in detail each of the love language, spicing it up with the love stories from their family.

We also had the opportunity to learn what is our own love language. Kuya Jun and ate Gina concentrate on taking the test, to better communicate with one another.

Are you speaking the right love language?
